Hi, please tell me.
I'm considering this IC for Kick-to-Open for automotive.
Can I use this IC in Europe?
I think some regulations prohibit this IC.(ETSI, FCC...)

Dear Yoshinori -
77GHz is OK for KTO.
See: https://www.ti.com/lit/wp/spry312/spry312.pdf and references to EN 300, 301 and 302 at the end of the document.

Hi, Josh
Thanks for the reply.
Doesn't the CEPT prohibit the use of this IC for hands-free applications?
If you check ERC-70-03 Annex A h, it states that you refer to the decision of ECC/DEC/(04)03.
According to the decision of ECC/DEC/(04)03, 77-81GHz can only be used for collision mitigation and traffic safety applications.
I think hands-free applications is neither collision mitigation nor traffic safety applications.
I'm sorry if my understanding is wrong...

I don't read it the same restrictive way you have, and here is a customer using the AWRL1432 in their module, for the KTO application and others, in this European e-magazine.

I will ask around my group - if I find out different, I will update this post.
Hi, Josh

Yes. You are right.
And thank you very much for introducing the case studies.
If you have any additional information, I look forward to hearing from you.
