IWRL6432: about IWRL6432_Vital_Signs

Part Number: IWRL6432

Dear TI experts,

We are working on IWRL6432_Vital_Signs and get a couple of questions:

1. Is there any paper or report about the algorithms used in the project available? I did a couple of tests and found both heart rates and breath rates are not as good as expected.

2. Do you use the same method in Vital_Signs_With_People_Tracking? I replicated the methods used in IWRL6432_Vital_Signs and tried to test with data collected with 6843. My replicated version seems much worse than Vital_Signs_With_People_Tracking.

3. Would you please share the source code of Vital_Signs_With_People_Tracking with me? My company has already signed NDA.

Best wishes,

Guolong

  • Dear TI experts,

Do you guys have any updates on this question?

    Best,

    Guolong

  • Hi Guolong,

    1. What is the accuracy that you are getting using IWRL6432_Vital_Signs and what is the accuracy that you need for your application

    2. Algorithm used in IWRL6432_Vital_Signs is same as Vital_Signs_With_People_Tracking. Does the accuracy on 6843 meet your application requirmenets

    3. If you already have the NDA, you can reach out to TI sales representative to get access to the source code

    Regards

  • Hi Abhishek Karkisaval,

    1. In my testing, the breath rate is about 7~8 BPM higher than the measurement with a breath band at least.  The target scene is for bed side vital sign monitoring and it expects 2 bpm for the breath rate and 5bpm for the heart rate. I am doubting there would be some wrong steps in my testing and would like see if there are any reports or paper about the idea used in this project.

    2. The accuracy tested with Vital_Signs_With_People_Tracking is much better than IWRL6432_Vital_Signs, and we would like develop and test other methods based on the idea used in the algorithm.

    Best,

    Guolong

  • Thanks Guolong for letting us know your test results. As mmwave sensor works on detecting the chest movements, accuracy will not be as good as a pulse oximeter or smart watch. +/- 5 for breath rate and +/-10 for heart rate is expected
