Hi team,

My customer has a problem when they tested IWRL1432BOOST.

firstly, they download the example of level_sensing:

Secondly, they configured the channelCfg 1 1 0, which is T1. They found the signal is normal:

Then, they configured the channelCfg 1 2 0, which is T2. They found the signal is very little:

Do you know the reason?

Hi Moon,

Level sensing is a 1TX-1Rx usecase. Hence the demo works only for TX0, Rx0

You may have to modify the demo if you intend to use the other TX. The output that you are seeing when enabling TX1 is incorrect. The current demo works only with TX0-Rx0

Hi Moon,

Based on the plot shown for TX2, it seems the adc data or the range FFT data is not correctly used for processing.

First, it is important to make sure adc data is correctly used for range processing. If so, you can see coarse peaks in the range fft data when you have a strong reflector infront of the sensor. If the customer can make sure that the coarse peaks are sent further for zoomFFT processing then the entire chain can be corrected. First, it is important to establish coarse peaks are detected in range fft data

I think can be sure that the entire chain is correct.

because I put a metal plate close to the sensor

When I set channelCfg 1 1 0 (use Tx0,Rx0), there are obvious peeks in fft.

When I set channelCfg 1 2 0 (use Tx1,Rx0), peeks can still be observed, but much smaller than when using Tx0.

Problems and questions I want to solve:

1. How to modify the settings or modify the source code in the example to make Tx0 and Tx1 have the same effect

2. Are the transmit powers of Tx0 and Tx1 on IWRL1432BOOST the same?

3. Could you try it on your IWRL1432BOOST? Could you share your test results?

Hi Allen He,

There is a mistake in the default configuration of level sensing

In chirpComnCfg CLI, chirpTxMimoPatSel should be set to 0 when only 1 Tx is enabled. It is set to 1 currently. It can be set to 1(TDMA) or 4(BPM) when multiple Tx are enabled. Please make the corrections as below

chirpComnCfg 8 0 0 512 0 45 0

Now, you should be able to work with TX2

You can use

channelCfg 1 2 0
