Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR6843
Hi Team,
SPRACF4 "Self-Calibration in TI's mmWave Radar Devices" explains TX transmit power correction. Can I get temperature data of individual variation?
Best regards,
Ito

Dear Jun -
There is an API in SDK to readout temperature sensor via a report.
The datasheet also describes it like this:
Monitoring is done by TI's code running on BIST R4F. There are two modes in which it could be configured to report the temperature sensed via API by customer application. a. Report the temperature sensed after every N frames b. Report the condition once the temperature crosses programmed threshold
Additionally, there is a note on Figure 9-8 (page 63) as well which reads: GPADC structures are used for measuring the output of internal temperature sensors. The accuracy of these measurements is ±7°C.
Hi Josh,
Does the AWR1843 have a function that controls the transmit power variation within the IC?
Best regards,
Ito
Dear Jun -
I do not think so - if you look at another datasheet like the AWR6843, for example, you will see a power backoff range specified in RF Spec table, whereas you don't see same line item in the AWR1843 datasheet, only typical output power.
Hi Josh,
We saw the desctiprion about adjustment of transmit power at page 4 in the application note of AWR1843(https://www.ti.com/jp/lit/pdf/spracf4). So we belive AWR1843 has the controlling Tx Power function in the IC. Could you check it?
Best regards,
Ito
Hello,
Yes, you are correct. All of our device support configurable TX backoff.
