TMP116: Self-calibration

Part Number: TMP116

Hi Sir,

If my customer wants to do the TMP116 self-calibration on their PCBA, just follow the methods in section 8.1.1.2. Is that right?

  • Hello Henry,

Our devices are already calibrated out of factory so it wouldn't be necessary. Also, Section 8.1.1.2 does not really provide any information in regards to calibrating the TMP116. If your customer is concerned about consistent accuracy on the PCB, I would suggest they reference our PCB Layout Guidelines to get the best possible measurements.

Otherwise, if they are still committed to calibrating their device, they would need an ideal/stable setup (like an oil bath) in conjunction with a calibrated reference to obtain a stable readout from the device and can extract some offset value and apply it to their measurements. In other words, they would have to characterize their system to implement any valuable offsets.

    Hope this helps!
