TMP468: TMP468

Part Number: TMP468
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP119

Regarding the "Remote temperature sensor accuracy" in the datasheet of TMP468, the question is:

if the TD (remote temperature sensor) is fixed to 125C, and for TA (TMP468 temperature) we have two conditions:

30C<TA <85C

or

85C < TA < 125C

For these two cases, could you please let us know the minimum and maximum couples of accuracy values?

(I guess in these cases the accuracy should be better than entire temperature ranges, we would need an estimation if it is possible).

Regards

Fabio

  • Hello Fabio,

The accuracy is dependent on the package of the device. Without package information,  I can guarantee a local and remote accuracy of max +1C and min -1C. Specs can be improved if you have the DSBGA or the VQFN package. I have provided the accuracy details below. If you have any more questions lets me know.

  • Hi, thank for the answer.

We will prefer the VQFN package. We will work in a narrow temperature range, as described above (the TD of remote sensor will be read only at 125C).

Now, once fixed the TD, we would like to know the accuracy for the cases of TA in which:

    30C<TA <85C

    and

    85C < TA < 125C

I think that working in a narrower range of temperature the accuracy, as min and max values, should improve than one specified in the datasheet.

    thank in advance

    Regards

    Fabio

  • Hello Fabio,

TI can only guarantee the accuracy within the datasheet. For VQFN package, we can guarantee an accuracy of a max -0.75C and a min 0.75C. What accuracy are you trying to achieve? One of our highest accuracy temperature sensor is TMP119 (a local I2C temperature sensor).

    30C<TA<85C: TMP119 accuracy = ±0.09°C

    85C<TA<125C: TMP119 accuracy = ±0.15°C
