PGA460-Q1: PGA460-Q1 EVM Drivers Not Installing

Cannot seem to install drivers to run the PGA460 EVM with MSP430. Using the GUI I get the following message:

I'm running windows 10 and my computer is 64bit.

I do have a BOOSTXL-PGA460 folder that was installed in my documents folder and manually ran the one_time_setup.bat. I click yes three times to allow the driver to make changes to my computer.

I have read through the PGA460 FAQ and used TI’s uniflash_windows.zip to run the one_time_setup.bat. I ran the dpinst_64_eng.exe but it tells me it can’t find any drivers (maybe they already installed) and in every instance I cannot get the GUI to flash and get the first picture I posted.

I was never prompted to install the drivers when I installed the GUI so I tried it manually.

Later this evening I used a different computer and was prompted to install the drivers and everything worked perfectly the first time on my second computer. However, I still need to get it working on the first computer. Is it possible it's a permissions issue with the drivers even though I can run as admin?

Hi Pete,

Thank you for posting to the Sensors forum!

I believe that it is unlikely to be a permissions issue, especially as you have admin rights. Would it be possible for you to uninstall the drivers + and try re-installing everything to see if that helps?

Thanks Alcia, removed all drivers but still saw the error messages. Interestingly, when I connect the dev board to the computer that isn't working I see the connection light on the GUI go from red (no connected) to Green (Connected). I have been hung up on the fact that I get the error messges shown in the first pic where I try to force flash program the board but is this connection color change an indication that the drivers are connected and it's working? SInce the green LED on the dev board is illumiated I assume that it is working correctly.When I try to use the GUI to check for updates I still get the "not connected to internet" message, is it my computer or is this GUI feature not supported?

When I run the Gui data monitor I don’t see the initial burst energy, decreasing decay period, or the peak of return object reflected back at ay set distance. Upon closer inspection it looks like my daughter board is missing the transformer. Do you have a part number for that?

Hi Pete,

The "Check for Updates" feature is currently not supported.

I'm not sure if you've already looked at it, but just in case, I linked a video detailing how to setup and install the firmware/drivers needed to interface with this EVM. PGA460 ultrasonic sensing: How to set up and install the EVM

However, given the last image shared, it does appear that your EVM is connected to the GUI based on the EVM Status. To ensure this is the case, press "Reinitialize USB Control", which should give you the following below:

Then press "Check for PGA460-Q1", which should result in the following:
