Hello,

I have the followin questions about the schematics of AWR1843AOPEVM (PROC106B).

1) There are PMIC(U1; LP87524JRNFRQ1) and AWR1843AOP on the EVM board. and they are connected to I2C bus.

Is there any case where AWR1843AOP becomes I2C master, and it controls LP87524?

2) If yes, for example, what does AWR1843AOP control over LP87524?

3) Is there a case where AWR1843AOP becomes I2C slave?

Please advise.

Thanks for the post and welcome to E2E!

The AWR1843AOP would be considered the bus controller, and it would write the registers available in the LP87524 (see pages 39 -41 for register map of PMIC)

The LP87524 can never be I2C bus controller. (see page 36 and on specifically, in same PMIC datasheet from link above)

What specific processing does AWR1843AOP on AWR1843AOPEVM perform on LP87524 using I2C?

On the EVM designs, generally the PMICs are just setup to operate from default configuration and pins are pulled high to enable that.

The I2C is connected in case any of the register configurations are desired/need to be changed.
