Hi,

I put the sensor facing the road, the sensor cannot exclude car or motorcycle(only detect human) when they passes by the sensor. How do I solve this problem?

HW : IWRL6432BOOST

SDK : radar_toolbox_1_30_01_03 & mmwave_sdk_03_06_00_00-LTS

example : IWRL6432_People_Tracking --> motion_and_presence_detection_demo.release.appimage(prebuild binary)

Hi,

Are you trying to detect people? Or are you trying to detect the cars? Can you show pictures or video?

If you're trying to detect the cars and motorcycles, you should make sure your maximum velocity is high enough. Use the mmwave sensing estimator for this.

Hi,

We are trying to detect people. But sensor detect cars and motorcycles when they passed. How to exclude them?

Hi,

You will need to filter them out, potentially by their velocity. You could also try the classification tools provided in the out-of-box demo for the 6432, but this has not been tested to classify people vs cars and motorcycles.

Hi Nathan,

I confused about filter the car out by velocity. As my understanding, only "allocationParam --> velocity" can use. But setting this value too high result in persons cannot be allocated.

Hi Kimi,

This will require you to modify the software. You could estimate the track velocity by their movement over frames to estimate whether they're people or car/motorcycles. This is just a suggestion though - the implementation and effectiveness needs to be judged by you.
