AWR1843BOOST: FMCW

Part Number: AWR1843BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843

hi,

I used  the awr1843boost to detect objects' range and angle,  studied the Radar RF front end and processing the radar adcdata with matlab. but it seems always there is  Strong reflection in RD figure after processing the raw adc data for range and angle. as below( read arrow is ghost reflection, and the yellow arrow is my object's signal reflection):

my question is:

1) how to elimate the ghost in adc data processing? so that it can find the correct peak in RD figure.

2) as you know, the awr1843 use FMCW mode, another question is : whether can I apply music algorithm to the raw data for estimating the object's range( need to notice: not angle)?

  • Hi Wembanyama,

    Thank you for your patience!

    • Can you confirm if your scene is completely stationary and the zero doppler has been removed here? It looks a bit like stationary objects which is why I would want to confirm the same.
    • Can you briefly explain how you intend to do this?

  • hi,

I am sure my scene is completely stationary.

the zero doppler has been removed here

I don't know whether I removed the zero doppler, what do you think is the reason to do so?

Can you briefly explain how you intend to do this

I want to  do some algorithmic optimization. and  Could you please provide me with a 3DFFT algorithm and Range-Doppler algorithm. maybe I need to modify the correct and find a solution to the problem.

    Regards,

    Wembanyama
