AWR2944EVM: RTI

Part Number: AWR2944EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2944

Do the MSS and DSS have their own independent RTI instances, or do they share the same RTI instance that is just mapped to different memory?

When the MSS and DSS get system time at the same time, is there a gap between the two values?

Could you please rephrase the question?

  • Hello Jerry,

To my understanding yes, the RTI of MSS and DSS are separate. If the clock source of the RTIs is same and the counters are started exactly at the same time, you can expect the same time, but that is very hard to achieve in any system. So yes, there will be a gap in the value and your understanding is correct.
Let me cross check this information once.

  • Hi, Saswat,

First thank you for your support.

If there is a gap, how- to determine the AWR2944 product time?

For details, object and its time-stamp was generated by DSS and then sent to MSS. Do we need modify the time-stamp in MSS domain?

If we do, how can we get the gap value?

  • Hello Jerry,

What is the necessity to do that? What is your end use case application?
Ideally RTI has a counter which keeps getting reset, how are you planning on maintain the time like that?
It is not ideal to use the RTI for time synchronizations like this, it is usually for an independent event which you want to control from each core.
