Hi sir,

I am trying to dump the example code available in CCS i.e traffic monitoring in my IWR6843ISK-ODS EVM to check whether the board is working fine or not.. 

But I couldn't dump my code due to target configuration error which I have attached in a image.

 

In datasheet they have given XDS110 emulator to test connection of target configuration.

 Here under devices I selected IWR6843 and under Cpus I selected C674X(DSP) as given in datasheet for DSP. Here I have attached image of what I selected. 

 After selecting all this I have given test connection as given in the below image

After clicking test connection I am getting a error as attached in the image

But currently I don't have XDS 110 emulator and DCA100 EVM board. 

My setup is I have connected IWR6843ISK-ODS to  CPU through micro USB cable.

Kindly request you to confirm whether I need DCA100 EVM board and XDS110 EMULATOR to dump the example code. I am waiting for your answer most eagerly since there is a lot of pressure for me.

    Hello Lavanya.

    Please refer to the CCS Debug guide that is within our toolbox which I have linked here.  This will walk you through all the necessary hardware and software needed to debug the cores of the IWR6843.  It looks like you are missing the MMWAVEICBOOST EVM, which is required for debugging when using the ISK-ODS EVM as it does not have a built-in XDS.  Please try with this board and follow the guide to see if it resolves your issue.

    Thank you for the answer sir. 

    For IWR6843ISK-ODS we need MMWAVEICBOOST to dump the code since there is no XDS tool in it.

    To dump the code in IWR6843 also MMWAVEICBOOST EVM is required or not?

    When \you say dump code, do you mean just debug the code?  Or read the memory?  Either way, to connect to the core via XDS in CCS debug, you will need the ICBOOST board to do this, and in debug mode you can view memory or debug the code.

    Is there any alternative options to configure the board instead of using MMWAVEICBOOST EVM? I want to ensure IWR6843ISK-ODS board is working fine or not?

    How is this possible without using MMWAVEICBOOST and DCA1000 EVM?

     I tried to configure through mmwavestudio software tool , but in that also DCA1000 EVM is required . So ,can you please suggest me any other software tool in which I can test IWR6843ISK-ODS without using MMWAVEICBOOST and DCA1000 EVM.

    Hello.

    What exactly are you trying to test?  You cannot debug the code without the ICBOOST EVM as the ISK-ODS does not have an XDS.  You also will need the DCA1000EVM only to collect raw data.  To purely configure the device, you just need to send the configuration file.  Please go through this Out-of-Box demo user guide to get an example for how to configure the device with configuration files.
