IWR6843AOPEVM: Inaccuracy improvements for heart rate

I am testing the sensor anywhere from 1m to 6m and no matter the distance, I am getting an inaccuracy of over 15-20bpm for heart rate. I made sure that I click the nRest button each time I run a demo and that all other parameters are normal. How can I improve the accuracy for heart rate on the IWR6843AOPEVM?

    Hi,

    The accuracy is limited by the algorithm. So, distance will not contribute much to the accuracy. As per the algorithm used, if you are still, then the accuracy is better as the implementation is based on sensing the chest movement for breath rate and heart rate calculation. We expect the deviation to be +/- 10 BPM for heart rate and +/-5 for breath rate.

    But mmwave sensor will not be able to provide accuracy like a pulse oximeter or smart watch
