AWR1843: mrr demo use how to detect small object.

Hello,

"#define SUBFRAME_CONF_MRR" is the configuration that I will use for the MRR demo lab. The sensor's application is detect small objects like stones (stone size = 0.4meter). Sensor fixed to vehicle has a height of 1 meter.
the car approaches the stone but sensor is not detect it. how to resolve the problem

What are the Tx channels enabled in your configuration? Is the object present within the FOV?

Hi Sriram,

There are two configurations for MRR.

Chirp design for max range of 80m
Chirp design for max range of 120m

Which configuration are you using? Is the object present within the FOV?

Yes, the object is in the field of view.

Hi Sriram,

Are you able to see the peak for the small object when you perform 1D FFT? And the signal strength should be above the noise level to detect the object. For a very short-range detection I suggest you to use USRR along with MRR.

Did you check this? The object can be detected only if it has a minimum RCS (Radar Cross Section) where the signal strength is above the noise level. AWR1843 is mainly intended for Automotive applications. You can refer to other examples in TIREX such as Small Obstacle detection etc. To check the examples, navigate to Examples Overview (ti.com).
