TMP127-Q1: I2C to SPI conversion

Part Number: TMP127-Q1

I am looking for I2C to SPI conversion device. The protocol converter device will be connected to a microcontroller as I2C slave. The microcontroller will send read/write commands to the I2C to SPI conversion device. Do we have such a protocol converter available at TI ?

  • Hello John,

Can I help you find a temperature sensor that meets your needs? We have both I2C and SPI temperature sensors in our portfolios that would eliminate the need for a converter.

  • Thanks for reply. We actually are working on a PCB design in which we have several devices with I2C. All the devices are I2C slave devices. There is an other board on which we have MCU. We already have included/added I2C interface between the MCU board and the new PCB design on which we have several I2C slave devices.

We need to add another device that has SPI interface and for some other reasons the new device with SPI interface has been selected to be added in the new PCB design. The number of cables are limited between MCU and the new design. We can not add more cables. Conversely, we avoid adding SPI on the MCU side. And we need to add more then one, the new device with SPI interface.

The reason for positing this question here on this forum is to find a protocol converter that translate I2C to SPI. Since I don't have a TI part number so I just added a random TI device part number to publish the post. I am sorry about that.

  • Hello John,

TI currently does not have a I2C to SPI converter. TI will consider this for future development.
