OPT3005: OPT3005 light angle test question

Part Number: OPT3005

Hi,

our customer's research and development team has not yet found a test standard for the photosensitive angle. We would like to know how the original factory tests different light incident angles on the digital photosensitive opt3005 when it leaves the factory.

  • Hi Dane,

I'm not able to provide details regarding factory testing, but I recommend reviewing our Calibration and Testing video series for details on how to calibrate and test light sensors in the lab and on production lines.

To test sensor readings at different angles the sensor can be rotated relative to the light source. As with all testing, the light source needs to be stable and a dark enclosure must be used to remove ambient light. To prevent light from reflecting off of the enclosure, it is recommend to use a larger enclosure so that the walls are farther away from the sensor. These principles are explained in more detail in the video series.

    Best regards,
    Nicole
