AWR2944: Can the UART share the same pin with SOP3 & SOP4 when without XDS?

Dear Gurus,

Now I want to design the sensor with AWR2944, and without XDS nor FTDI.

In TI AWR2944 EVM, it says that SOP3(A14pin)  and SOP4(C16 pin) should be ZERO for 40M crystal.

But at the same time, UARTA share the same pin with SOP3 and SOP4.

That confused me, when UART level is high, is it possible to change the crystal setting?

    Hello,

    SOP mode is detected during power on when the NRESET is released, so the SOP pins need to be pulled to GND for this purpose to set the XTAL mode.

    However, after NRESET is released the SOP mode will be latched and from that point on the pinmux can be used to reconfigure these pins for other purposes.
