IWR1843AOP: About current consumption

Power consumption depends on the usecase. It can vary from 1.28 to 2.08W. Also, maximum current on each rails are also mentioned in the same document.

Out of Box demo in SDK would consume around 1.78W

I understand that the Power Consumption of Out of Box demo in SDK is around 1.78W. 

I would like to know how much current each of 3.3V, 1.8V, 1.2V, 1V line consumes under Out of Box demo. 

Because I want to calculate the derating of parts and select the suitable parts(L, C) used in these voltage lines. 

Please advise.

Hi Shoko,

Hardware design should be considered with the maximum current consumption on each rails. Maximum current metric is already mentioned in the datasheet

As you change the configuration of the application, there will be significant variation in the current of each rails. Hence, you should use only the maximum current specification for each rails

I would like to know the typical current consumption on each rails to use them in FMEA. 

Please let me know the typical current under Out of Box demo. I you don't have, could you measure them?

Hi Shoko,

We do not have the setup to measure the individual rail currents with the SDK out of demo running. So, we will not be able to provide the individual rail numbers for a typical configuration
