DCA1000EVM: About Connection by mmWave Studio

Please find my comments below - 

1) I can see in the screenshots that your PC is still connected to the Wi-Fi. Please disable the auto-connect in wifi.

2) Check all the connections are made properly

3) Check device SOP mode - it should be in SOP2 mode

After the first capture did you make any changes in your AWR1843 or DCA1000 EVM? If yes, please mention them here.

I answer your comment below;

-> I have already tried to disable the auto-connect WiFi (forced off WiFi). But PC did not connect to the DCA1000EVM. 

2) Check all the connections are made properly

-> I checked all the connection and it is correct. 

3) Check device SOP mode - it should be in SOP2 mode 

-> SOP2?? The two linked documents below I refered do not mention Flash mode(SOP2).

I have never turned on SOP2. Is it possible to successfully capture raw data once under such conditions? 

Please send me the document how to get raw data using AWR1843AOPEVM + DCA1000EVM + mmWave Studio.

Hi Shoko,

1) If you were able to capture data just once and not able to capture afterwards, then we can not be sure if data that you already captured is correct or not

2) You are using a AWR device which corresponds to automotive device, for AWR devices please refer DCA1000 mmWave Studio User Guide for AWR Device page

3) The device needs to be in SOP2 (development mode) to connect to the mmWave Studio. You can find the SOP switches near left to the "Texas Instruments" logo.

By default the SOP0 will be on, others(SOP1, SOP2) switches will be off. Connect power in by default mode > Switch on the SOP1 switch > nReset the device(press NRST button) > device will go to Development mode(SOP2 mode)

Note: Please watch the terms SOP switch and SOP mode

In the end, I have always successed to get raw data using AWR1843AOPEVM + DCA1000EVM + mmWave Studio under the SW setting of following image. 

I'm not sure what "SOP2 mode" you said..., but I never turned SOP2 Switch on.

Hi Shoko,

Glad that you're now able to capture the raw ADC data using your AWR1843+DCA1000 setup.

By SOP2 mode I meant the AWR device SOP mode, which is development mode.

May I know what was the issue(blocking) at your end?

I have no idea why mmWave Studio didn't run... But I feel that the operation of DCA1000 is unstable. 

By the way, I think it would be better to change ”SOP2” to other name. 

Since "SOP2 mode" and "SOP2 switch" exist in your mmWave evaluation system, it's very confusing.

I understand your confusion, but it's not in our hand This is standard set TI only.

So what are the changes you made in terms of HW/Studio from earlier(when data capture didn't work) and now(when data capture is working)?
