AWR2243: Hardware trigger issue between two sets of 4-cascaded MMICs

Part Number: AWR2243

We set up two custom-made radar sensors, each of which has 4-cascaded AWR2243 MMICs. One acts as a primary sensor and the other as a secondary sensor. Both sensors are connected only via a MMIC trigger line and its corresponding GND line. The master MMIC(#1) of the primary sensor sends trigger pulse signals periodically and all eight MMICs receive them so that they operate in a synchronized manner. Its diagram is shown below.

Then we set TRIGGER_SELECT values of AWR_ADVANCED_FRAME_CONF_SB as follows:

     - MMIC#1 of the primary sensor : 0x01 (S/W trigger mode)

     - MMIC#2,3,4 of the primary sensor : 0x02 (H/W trigger mode)

     - MMIC#1,2,3,4 of the secondary sensor : 0x02 (H/W trigger mode)

Under the above condition, we make the MCU of the primary sensor send a start signal to MMIC#1, but these two sensors don't operate as we expected. Whereas the primary sensor operates normally in a 4-cascaded mode, the secondary sensor don't seem to operate correctly because no raw radar data of the secondary sensor are saved.

We would appreciate it if you could let me know why these settings don't work as a synchronized radar system.
