AWRL1432: Can mmWave chip use to transmit some data?

Part Number: AWRL1432
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2340R5, CC2340R2

Hi TIer

My customer currently wants to use mmWave technology to complete electrical isolation.

They want to use mmWave chip to transmit high speed signals such as HDMI, USB, and Ethernet.

I realize that ST's ST60 seems to be a data transmission chip based on mmWave technology.

Could you help me see if we have the right solution? Thanks

  • Hello Tony,

The ST60 devices appear to be 60 GHz transceivers intended for wirelessly transferring data.   The AWR devices, on the other hand, are radar devices.

For wireless data transfer you can consider TI's wireless connectivity devices, including low power devices such as CC2340R5/CC2340R2 for Bluetooth Low Energy or Zigbee, or the CC33XX Wi-Fi 6 devices.  You can check with your contacts in the marketing departments to find what connectivity device may be right for your customer.

    Regards,

    James
