IWRL6432: Vital signs range bin

Hi TI experts,

In dpc.c at line 2576 of the vital signs in radar toolbox 2.0.0.6, vsRangeBin = (uint16_t)(radialDistance / 0.093);
What does 0.093 represent? If I modify the configuration file, will the denominator still be 0.093?

Hi,

0.093 represents the range resolution. i,e, distance measured by each bin. This is dependent on the chirp configuration. You can get the details from the sensing estimator at https://dev.ti.com/gallery/view/mmwave/mmWaveSensingEstimator/ver/2.4.0/

If chirp configuration is modified then range resolution will have to change, also the data path is tightly tied to the configuration. So, I would not recommend changing the configuration

Hi Abhishek,

1. After loading the Vital_Signs_With_Tracking_BOOST.cfg into the mmWave Sensing Estimator, the displayed range resolution is 0.098m instead of 0.093m.
2. Would it be correct to replace 0.093 with gMmwMssMCB.rangeStep?

Hi Daniel,

Yes, That would be correct. Range resolution of 0.098 needs to be used. We will correct in the lab in next version
