Hello Josh,
It should be possible. consider the following when you do this:
1. the maximum velocity you can detect is dictated by the chirp time:
2. and the velocity resolution is dictated by the frame length:
So in your application consider how the water is moving and select the chirp/frame parameters accordingly.

Thanks so much James. I have another question. Can I set the chirp/frame parameter of my AWR1642 without the mmWave Studio? I have no DCA1000 (very expensive for a student like me) and it is one of the requirements to start the mmWave Studio.
Hello Josh,
the DCA1000 is required if you want to (post)process captured data on your PC. However, it isn't required if you just want to use a visualizer.
Please reference the SDK and this document for instructions on how to do this:
C:/ti/mmwave_sdk_03_06_02_00-LTS/docs/mmwave_sdk_user_guide.pdf (reference 'running the demos' section)
MMWAVE-SDK Software development kit (SDK) | TI.com (to download the SDK, including the above mentioned document)

James
