LDC1614: interior parts inquiry

Part Number: LDC1614

Tool/software:

Hi TI team,

I am processing LDC1614 multi-channel measurement. I want to measure the time delay of two coils (two channels). When I try setting sampling interval from 80ms to 10ms, the resolution decreases. That is, sampling interval at 10ms, I can't tell the target waveform from the Noise. There are two question I'm going to ask you. First, how low could i set up my sampling interval to measure(perhaps the main reason is ADC)? Second, if the previous difficulty can't be solved, which board would meet my needs(sampling interval could be set at least 5ms with high resolution)?

Thanks,

En-Zhu, Lyu

  • Hello,

I have a few questions for you about your application:

    • Can you please clarify what you mean by measuring the time delay of two coils?
    • You mention you need 5ms sample interval and high resolution. What do you consider high resolution?
    • What is your sensor frequency?
    • What are you using for the reference clock frequency?

Setting the LDC1614 sampling rate is a trade off between speed and resolution. If your application requires a faster sampling rate, then you will need to look to other areas of the design to improve your resolution. More information on resolution can be found in the Optimizing L Measurement Resolution for the LDC161x and LDC1101 application note.

    Thank you,
