INA740-INA741EVM: 20Bit version not available?

Part Number: INA740-INA741EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA741, INA740B, INA740A

Tool/software:

Hello Ti,

we like to use the INA741 (20Bit version) in our application. We received some samples PINA741 a month ago. Now we cant access the product page any more (Fehler 404 Nicht gefunden | TI.com).

What is the state of the prodoct?

Thank you in advance.

Joerg

  • Hey Joerg,

The 20 bit version will not be fully released and thus was removed from web after advance notice. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Sincerely,

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

    thank you the information.

we havnt received any informations abaout removal. I ve ordered and received the samples  of Pina 741 at the beginning of may 24 without any hint about discontinuation. What is the reason for discontinuance? Are there plans for a later release? Can you sugest an alternate part with similar performance?

    Thank you in advance.

    BR Joerg

  • Hey Joerg,

There was no notice of discontinuation because the device only had begun an Advance (prototype) Release. For most cases these device will go on with minimal change to datasheet as a full release to the market.

There is no plan for a later release. The closest alternate part is the INA740A (the INA740B is the 2nd most related with slightly less accuracy than INA740A), both of which are essentially the exact same as the INA741 except that the measurement register is 16 bits, not 20 bits. However, everything thermally and functionally and pin layout/order are the same as INA741. While the A version is still in its Advance Release, it should still be fully released this year.

I honestly do not know how much I can provide about the discontinuation (I'm asking around). However, I can say that it had nothing to do with functionality or operation.

    Sincerely,

    Peter
