Hi,

I want to update the IWR6843 radar firmware over the air (OTA). I found a document under "mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\utils\sbl". It says that firmware update is happening through UART as of now and if we want to do it over CAN then some part of code needs to be added in it.

I tried to open SBL code in CCS as a CCS project, but it is giving me an error. Please find the screenshot below,

Also, I am not able to find this function "SBL_transport_init()" to replace it with "CANFD_init()" in SBL project code. Is there any other project for SBL which I need to refer?

Hello.

There is no projectspec in this SDK for this project; you will have to use the makefile to build, and a separate code editor to edit the file.

Hi Santosh,

Got it. But as I said, I am not able to find this function "SBL_transport_init()" to replace it with "CANFD_init()" in SBL project code. Is there any other project for SBL which I need to refer? This step is mentioned in "mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\utils\sbl" document.

Hello Manoj.

I found it in the sbl.c file on line 438 in the SBL_initTask(). Are you looking for the function call or the definition itself?

Hi Santosh,

I have checked that. That function is there. I was searching the name as given in the document of SBL "mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\utils\sbl".

Now if I want to implement the CAN in SBL then do I need to add CAN files and its function in that code? And after that using make file I have to compile it, is my understanding correct?

Hey Manoj,

Here is a thread I helped out with for changing the CAN SBL from 18xx to 68xx. The original post description and the first three replies should cover everything that needs to be changed to get it working on 68xx, but let me know if there are any other issues you run into. I would recommend starting with a fresh project and then implementing the changes mentioned in the post.
