Hello,

I was able to get the TI-SCB board to work properly with the TMAG5170 A1 board. The GUI worked online but when I went to try the A2 board it did not seem to work right.

When connecting to the A2 board the 3D image of the board is not the same as the A1 design. When going to the setup screen I can't make any selections in configuration. When using the A1 all this sort of worked and selections were possible. Am I doing something wrong?

Hello,

Can you try disconnecting the board from the computer and refreshing the browser when you switch from the A1 to the A2 board? The TMAG5170EVM firmware reads the device ID on power up so that may not be occurring properly if you just change out the A1 portion for the A2 portion. If doing that does not solve the issue, can you confirm if the default register values are correct in the register map tab of the GUI. Here is what the config registers should default to for the A2 device:

I have tried that, it does not resolve the issue.

The APL is not really connecting, I don't need the A2 board installed when connecting through the serial port.

When restarting the board and the browser the A2 board will not connect.

Hello,

With the A2 board plugged in, can you try forcing the board to connect by going to Options->Serial Port and selecting the EVM from the drop down list?

Once you do, the board should connect and show the APL version you showed in your first message. From there, can you confirm what the configuration registers look like by default?

Below is what I am seeing.

If I swap to the A1 board in this exact state, registers will populate FYI.

Hello,

Thank you for confirming the register information. Based on the CONFIG registers not properly loading here, it may be that the device is not communicating with the main controller correctly. Can you see any signs of damage on the A2 portion of the board or any missing components? Would it be possible to probe the SPI lines of the A2 board to confirm if the TMAG5170A2 is communicating with the MCU?

Looking under a loop R14 was not placed properly. With a little bit of pressure it connected, I will try to repair it for better but I am not too skilled at this. Maybe there is other damage to the board as well.

Can a replacement board be sent to me?

I believe I have it working with my repair. I am trying to track the angle of the knob. Can you give a recommendation on axis I should use?
