AWR2243BOOST: Differences between mmWaveLink and mmWaveStudio

Part Number: AWR2243BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243

Tool/software:

Hi everyone,

I am having problems in using the examples from mmwave_dfp_02_02_04_00 with AWR2243 single chip with DCA1000 evm.

My experiment setup is a corner reflector at about 4 meters on the right side of the board (view from behind the radar) in an open room. When I run the experiment using mmWaveLink the reflection of the signal appears in the wrong position. On the other hand when I set the same configuration (chirp parameters, number of frames, adc format and trigger) in mmWaveStudio I get the correct results (peak in the correct position). The experiment environment (board position, reflector position) remain unchanged between the two cases.

This is the expected result obtained using mmWaveStudio (highest point on the right).

This is instead the result with mmwavelink for the same scenario, now the reflection appears at the wrong angle.

Is there some default option enabled in mmWaveStudio than should be activated also in mmWaveLink?

Or can you please explain me what could be the differences between the two different approaches that could cause this difference in the collected data?

Thank you

Kind regards,

Camilla
