AWR6843ISK: FMCW chirp end phase

Part Number: AWR6843ISK

Tool/software:

Hi TI Experts,

From binary phase modulation (BPM) technique in TI MIMO radars, I know that the initial phase of FMCW chirps in a frame can be either 0 or 180 degrees. Is there a way to make sure that the phase at the end of each chirp is either 0 or 180 degrees, as well?

BR,

Navid

  • Hey Navid,

Thanks for reaching out on BPM configuration! First of all, BPM is only supported for demos that use the Doppler DSP DPU; Doppler HWA DPU is not supported for BPM. The Out-of-Box demo for the AWR6843ISK should support BPM.

BPM is set to transmit +TXA + TXB then +TXA - TXB. As for what chirps are used, this is determined by the chirp index for the third and fourth parameter of the bpmCfg configuration which determines what chirpCfg to use. I would recommend reviewing the bpmCfg description under Section 3.4 of the MMWAVE SDK User Guide (<MMWAVE_SDK_INSTALL_DIR>/docs/mmwave_sdk_user_guide.pdf).

    Regards,

    Kristien
