TMP110: Power Up

Expert 4486 points
Part Number: TMP110

Tool/software:

An issue of "Power Disabled upon power up" came up, based on what the default ALERT output is at power up. Is ALERT = HiZ on power up, before it gets programmed.

Thanks,

  • Hi Jack,

The alert pin of TMP110 features an open-drain interface. By default, the alert pin is configured to be active LOW. Thus, on POR, alert will be at HiZ state--assuming that the end-user is implementing a pullup resistor, the voltage on the line will be read as a logic high. It is also important to note that if the junction temperature is higher than 80°C on POR, the device will pull the line down after the first temperature conversion since this temperature is above the POR value of the high alert limit.

    Best regards,
