Hi Ti expert,
Can TMP112 be painted with a conformal coating for waterproofing? Should the TMP112 body be exposed(only Pins are painted), or can the body be fully painted? Is there anything to pay attention to?
Best Regards
Ken

The whole device can be conformal coated. A system designer could choose to omit coating for thermal reasons, but the device does not require special treatment to operate.

Technically the answer is 'all.' However, materials have different thermal conductivity that describes their contribution to heat transfer.

Hi Ren,
Sorry,I have a few more questions, may I ask:
Is it OK if I only sprayed waterproof paint on the pin and surrounding parts of the device, not on the upper body part of the device?
The purpose is to make a part of the device body can contact the outside air, and the temperature response is better.
Will condensate water pass through the surface of the device and enter the device, and the I2C cannot be accessed or the device is damaged?
Distilled water is commonly used to clean PCB assemblies. I don't expect there to be any risk of water entering the plastic package.

Hi Ren,
PCB clean is single and not long. But I'm talking about condensate water now.The customer's application scenario will experience condensate every day and will last for a long time , resulting in short circuit of TMP112 Pins, so they wants to use conformal coating. Please help to reply the following questions again.
1,Is it OK if I only painted conformal coating on the pins and surrounding parts of the device, not on the upper body part of the device?

2,Will condensate water pass through the surface of the device and enter the device, and the I2C cannot be accessed or the device is damaged?
thanks.
We don't use or test conformal coating nor do we test packages specifically for water ingress.
