AWR2944EVM: How to trigger subsystem reset

Hi designer,

In AWR294x Technical Reference Manual, I only find warmreset by writing b'111' to WARM_RESET_CONFIG Register's sw_rst field, it is top domain reset.

But I can't find the way to trigger related subsystem reset, there is only RESET_CAUSE Register or RESET_STATUS Register and so on.

How could I trigger subsystem reset?

In the SDK for AWR2944 you can find the function SOC_generateSwWarmReset in the soc_rcm.c file.

What's the difference between SOC_rcmR5TriggerReset and SOC_R5PowerOnReset?

I don't think it has same effect on the board.

Hello Zisheng,

SOC_rcmR5TriggerReset is only for the R5 core and the SOC_rcmR5PowerOnReset is used assertion of wait for idle.

In the Bootloader_socCpuResetReleaseSelf you call this in sequence

SOC_rcmR5PowerOnReset();

SOC_rcmR5TriggerReset();

This is because the first function sets the wait for idle mode and the second one will perform a reset of the R5 once the core is idle.

But this is not related to warm reset at all.

So I can reset R5 core by call functions in order like this in MSS?

void reset(){

SOC_rcmR5PowerOnReset();

SOC_rcmR5TriggerReset();

}

Hello Zisheng,

Yes looks correct, you can refer the SBL_QSPI example to see how the functions are called.
This is a soft reset and sets the PC back to 0.
