TDC1000: Is this TDC1000-TDC7200EVM evaluation module still available for purchase?

I'm looking into a new Pipe water flow detection prototype and was interested in possibly trying out a TDC1000 / TDC7200

    Hello Paul,

    Thanks for posting to the sensors forum! The TDC1000-TDC7200EVM has been discontinued mostly because the TDC1000 is not the main recommended device for water flow measurement. This is due to a bug that reduces the accuracy of the flow measurements. The recommended devices as of now are the MSP430FR604x family of devices.

    If you are still curious about flow measurements with the TDC1000, you can still perform flow measurements with the TDC1000-C2000EVM.

    Thank you Isaac,
    I wasn't aware of the TDC1000 bug. Any info on how bad an issue is it?
    I'm not looking to determine precise flow measurements, just flow changes in a water pipe.

    Hello Paul,

    Thanks for the info. Some background on the bug, the TDC1000s comparator will not generate the first STOP pulse at times so the time difference until the next STOP pulse is about 1us if using a 1MHz transducer. In order to reduce the impact of the problem we recommend averaging several measurements which results in a difference of a couple of picoseconds. 

    If you are not looking for precision then this device might work well enough for what you need.
