We used AWR2243P to realize chip cascade before, but now we can only buy AWR2243 from TI Mall and authorized distributors. It is clearly stated on TI official website and the product description of Mouser that AWR2243 supports cascade function, so we design and develop based on cascade AWR2243.
I just received 30 pieces, the data code of the chip is 2212, and the silk screen print (lot trace code) is 23ZC4E9.
When we browse the TI forum, we see user feedback that this production date and batch of AWR2243 has no cascading function. This means that we will spend two weeks testing the cascading function of the purchased AWR2243 chip, which will significantly increase our development time and cost.
So, please confirm whether this batch of AWR2243 chips (data code is 2212, lot trace code is 23ZC4E9) support the cascading function?
Furthermore, when the decision was made at TI that all AWR2243 chips would support cascading, surely TI should have adopted the AWR2243P as the product part number going forward, this would avoid all confusion. Having the same part number for two different functioning chips is incredibly frustrating.
