I found pc-based application called "CAN_Metaimage_Flasher" under the tools folder of "radar_toolbox_2_10_00_04" also I have "radar_toolbox_2_20_00_04". But in both the toolbox when I try to open "CAN_Metaimage_Flasher" it opens and closes automatically. Some black screen comes and disappears immediately. 

Could you please help me in this.

I flashed the CAN sbl binary(xwr18xx_sbl_demo.bin) in radar using UniFlash successfully. I have connected radar to pc and opened serial terminal (Real Term) and pressed that switch but i didn't get any messages on terminal. In my earlier message I have shared that thread link for reference in that also they have faced same issue. To debug the code, I don't have JTAG or any debugging tool. Please let me know your inputs.

Yes, I have switched the device to functional mode after flashing the SBL binary. And then connected to the terminal and pressed reset button but no debug messages I have seen on terminal.

Is there any linker file which is to be used specifically? Currently I am using "mss_can_sbl_linker.cmd" this linker file. 

I tried putting some printf statement rather I have commented "if" statement in sbl.c file shown in below image to get the printf statements but still I am not able to get debug messages.

I just looked through the release notes and it looks like it was developed to support the 1843, which has different firmware than the 6843.  Can you try rebuilding the SBL application using the latest 6843 firmware, which can be found in SDK 3.6 under the firmware/radarss folder.

Yes, Santosh you are right. firmware was developed to support the 1843, by referring to AWR6843AOPEVM: I'm trying to use CAN_SBL_18xx from radar tool box _02_10_00_04 to work on AWR6843OPEVM - Sensors forum - Sensors - TI E2E support forums this link I have ported it for 6843.

SDK 3.6 under the firmware/radarss folder contains only some binary files and release notes. I don't find 6843 firmware in it. Please find the below screenshot,

No.  You will need to rebuild the CAN project with the 6843 firmware to be able to run it on the 6843 device as the 1843 and 6843 firmwares are different.  Then you will flash the new CAN SBL image via uniflash.

Sorry I am little confused here.

1. The highlighted file in my screenshot is a .bin file. So this .bin file I need to include in my project and rebuild it? 

2. I have already built 1843 CAN sbl for 6843 by making required changes in it. Like selecting target as 6843 instead of 1843. Mux pins macros I have changed for 6843 etc. by following the another thread which is mentioned in my first message. Anything else I have to do apart from this?

Hello Manoj.

To create the multicore image for the IWR6843, the MSS and BSS images are combined to form the final .bin file.  Currently when you build this project, you will be building it with the 1843 rprc binary, which is included from the SDK.  However, you will need to update this firmware to be the 6xxx rprc binary so that the combined image will run on the 6843.  I would recommend going into the projectspec and updating the postbuildstep to use the firmware from SDK 3.6, and also update all the libraries to use the 6843 libraries.  Then try rebuilding the project and seeing if it runs on the 6843.

I got this pin muxing from CAN SBL demo code of 1843. So in that pin muxing instead of xwr18xx I have changed it to xwr68xx. So I have ported CAN SBL demo from 1843 to 6843.

That looks correct to me.  For future pin-muxing references please refer to any 6843 examples for such information as it will be common amongst most 6843 demos.

No, I did not see anything different.  These prints will not happen over CAN but over the serial terminal via UART.  Are you checking here as well or are you looking for the message over the CAN interface?

Understood; I was just asking to check to see if there are any differences outside of the pinmuxing and the firmware for the 68xx and 18xx sbl code.  I will try it out on my end and see if I am able to get it working.  Have you tried debugging this application to see if it is getting stuck anywhere in the execution prior to getting to any of the print statements?

If you are using a custom device, I would also recommended trying the application on a 6843 EVM + mmWave ICBOOST so that you can debug your software.  I am still looking into it on my end; I will have an update on the status of the application on my end by the end of day Monday.  In that time could you try setting it up on a 6843 EVM to see if the behavior is the same and if so, where the code is getting stuck?

I tried on EVM. It gives me same behavior. It doesn't output data on serial. But I don't have debugging tool so I can't identify exactly where the code is getting stuck.

There seems to be an issue with the xwr68xx_sbl_demo.bin and we are looking into this issue; if you are able to acquire an ICBOOST EVM, please do so and test with the _mss.bin as that seems to work if loaded directly into memory via the debugger.  We will have an update for you regarding the xwr68xx_sbl_demo.bin by next week.
