TMP235-Q1: Connect the NC Pins to 24V

Hello,

I want to measure the temperature of mosfets switching 24V to a motor. Is it possible to connect the NC pins to the Bus Voltage to have a faster response?

As there is noch internal connection, there should be no problem, right?

    Hi Philipp,

    This is not recommended since the TMP235-Q1 is not rated for any kind of isolation and 24V might cause a breakdown voltage or arching in the leadframe. We do have a new device for this kind of application: ISOTMP35-Q1. This device is rated for basic isolation and provides much faster thermal response time in HV applications due to having a direct connection to a HV bus. Also note that this device provides the same 10mV/°C slope. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.
