AWR6843AOP: Inquiry Regarding Simulink Code Generation for AWR6843AOP

Part Number: AWR6843AOP

Dear Officer,

I hope this message finds you well.

We are currently utilizing Texas Instruments' mmWave radar in various radar systems and are now focused on the development of an in-cabin radar system. To expedite the software development process, we are exploring the possibility of generating automatic code using MATLAB Simulink models. However, we have observed that code generation appears to be primarily compatible with the C2000 series processors.

Since the AWR6843AOP has two processors, the MCU (R4F) and DSP (C674x), we would like to confirm whether it is feasible to develop model-based software in Simulink and generate code that is compatible with our custom board. Additionally, is there a method to enable code generation for our hardware by incorporating the necessary drivers into Simulink or MATLAB?

Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Mehmet Serhat Arslan

  • Hi, there:

We have not try automatic target code generation before.   I would expect that most of your development should be on top of SDK and SDK demos.  It will be unrealistic to assume that the automatic code generation falls into the SDK architecture.

    Best,

    Zigang
