AWRL1432BOOST: failed on BSD or bike radar prebuilt_binaries appimage

Part Number: AWRL1432BOOST

Tool/software:

Hi Expert,

We have build a PCB for the received 5 samples, the new build board can run SDK 05.05.00.02 motion_and_presence_detection example prebuilt_binaries appimage properly, but it failed on BSD or bike radar prebuilt_binaries appimage. It means the BSD appimage working on Ti AWRL1432BOOST EVM can not work on the received 5 samples. We found the chipset on EVM as XAL1432, and the 5 samples is XIL1432. Would you help to clarify what the difference between them, and what SW or FW patches we need to get the 5 samples works with BSD code.

Thanks a lot!

Daniel

  • Hello.

If you are using a device that start with an X, then it is not an ES2.0(production-ready) device, which is what is required to run any software based on the 5.5.0.2 SDK.  Can you please confirm that you are using ES2.0 devices as those devices are required to run the bike radar or BSD software.

    Sincerely,

    Santosh

  • Hi Santosh,

We have tried rebuild BSD software base on SDK 5.4.0.1 and link BSS with mmwave_rfs_rprc.bin, the new built appimage can on AWRL1432BOOST EVM (with XAL1432), but is not working on XIL432 device. Also we found the file size (48KB) of mmwave_rfs_rprc.bin on 5.4.0.1 SDK is much bigger than what the related file on the 5.5.0.2 SDK (mmwave_rfs_patch_rprc.bin, 2KB). Please advice if there's another mmwave_rfs_rprc patch available for XIL432.

    Thanks!

    Tony

  • Hello.

It may be easier to use an older version of the binary rather than recompile with the SDK firmware; can you try downloading an older version of the toolbox to get the ES1 binary and see if that runs on your devices?  Again, I would recommend you use the latest production-ready device with the current binaries, but the older binary in the toolbox will be what you want to run on this XIL1432 device.

    Sincerely,

    Santosh
