IWR6843AOPEVM: Fluctuating number of points

Hello,

I was playing around with the industrial visualizer and stored the data in a `.bin` format. I noticed that the number of points dropped periodically, while the same movement was performed. I set the maximum number of points to 150, and while most frames have 150 points in the pointclouds (and also as 'numDetectedpoints' in the OutputDict), Every ~10 frames, I have a frame with less points. As said the movement was identical during the data capturing. It felt a bit too rhythmical to be a coincidence.

Is this anything you encountered before, or can you maybe help me with a solution?

Hi,

Are you using the fine motion configuration setting? This behavior would match with the expectation if you're using that setting.

Is it possible you're using the staticRetention.cfg in the same folder? It has this line in it.

fineMotionCfg -1 1 1.0 10 2

Hi Nathan Block, Thanks a lot for your reply, that's valuable information. I'm indeed using the fineMotionCfg, so the pattern makes sense to me now. One last question: Is there a way to identify if the pointcloud is coming from a single-frame or multi-frame-block during/after parsing the TLV?
