I have a customer evaluating the PGA970 for a new project and we were hoping you could help to provide guidance on the LVDT update rate. Please see a summary of our questions below!
Is there any way to synchronize the update rate of the PGA970 to an external time? We need to obtain a position measurement from the LVDT sensor every 125us (or possibly 100us) consistently in order to calculate speed. The only time reference we see for the device is an internal 8-MHz on-chip oscillator that has a wide variation with temperature. We also saw mention of a 192 microsecond update rate which is not suitable for the application. Please let me know if there is a way to get the update rate needed.
