Hello,

I want to Interface my IWR56843AOP module with external microcontroller. Microcontrollers have 80 MHz of speed.

In microcontroller how I can do parsing of incoming data in microcontroller. do you have any example for this module.

I want to show how many people radar has detected (static or moving) or related data.

Also, I want to use minimum demo binaries for people detection, so it given data in every 100 ms. so can any controller handle and process this large amount of data in 100ms of time.

or if I increase time to 100ms to 500ms or 1 sec then what disadvantage we'll get in slow data rate?

Hi,

The data streams off the IWR6843 at a rate of 115200 baud, so many general purpose microcontrollers should be sufficient. All the data processing that you see in the out of box demos is happening on the IWR6843, so very little additional processing should be necessary, and the data coming off the IWR6843 should be relatively small in size (compared to the large data sizes of the radar cube and heatmaps). If you increase the frame period from 100 msec, then you will have more time to transfer the data, but this is likely unnecessary, as 100 msec is more than enough time to transfer data off the device typically.

Hello sir,

Data streams in IWR6843 is 921600 baud rates. 115200 is for another UART where we send CLI command, and how processing is done in microcontroller for detect people from raw data where we received raw data from UART. Where we received only X, Y, Z coordinates and their velocity of every clod point only using this how GUI detect people (may be using centroid or RCS something).

So can you guide how this processing is happening and how we can done in microcontroller.

The IWR6843 device runs a tracking algorithm called gtrack on the detected points, and it transmits the locations and velocities of the detected people based off the detected points over the UART.

Hi Lokesh,

We do not have an example of interfacing the IWR6843 with another module. What do you want this other module to do? The IWR6843 is able to do all the data processing on its ARM core, HWA and DSP. Is the other controller just there to send the configuration file? Or do you expect to process data on it?

Hello,

From controller I will send configuration and read data and need to do all processing that in your case python do for detect and track object is do we don't want GUI we need to count moving and static people and want their x, y, z coordinates and velocity.

So, for this I want your help in this. if you have any relevant solution regarding this then please provide to us. or it you have any C file for this processing that can helps a lot.

Hi,

We don't have a C-implementation of this, but I would again say that the IWR6843 does the detection and tracking on-chip. The python gui does not do any detection or tracking, it simply plots the data given to it from the IWR6843. If you want the count moving and static people and get their coordinates and velocity, you can extract that from the relevant TLV's (documented here).

Hello sir,

Yeah, you are right python GUI only plot the data given to it I 'am not sure about this but from radar chip we received details of points not actually object radar chip detects multiple points of a single person. so, I want to know how it detects person from these points' information

Hi Lokesh,

If you run the 3D people tracking example here, the tracks for each person (consisting of multiple points in the point cloud) are computed on the IWR6843 using the gtrack algorithm.
