IWR6843ISK-ODS: Comparison between PostProc in mmWave studio 2.1.1.0 and rawDataReader.m

Part Number: IWR6843ISK-ODS

Tool/software:

Dear colleagues,

I write adc_data.bin by means of IWR6843ISK-ODS + DCA1000 and mmWave studio 2.1.1.0.

Then I process adc_data.bin by means of PostProc in mmWave studio and get pictures for Time domain and First FFT (range profile):

Then I process adc_data.bin by means of

.../mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00/mmWaveStudio/MatlabExamples/singlechip_raw_data_reader_example/rawDataReader.m

using debugPlot = 1 and get corresponded pictures:

I see the equality of time domain pictures, but difference of Range Profiles.

Could you explain which Range Profile is correct?

Is there a script to get Range Profile like in mmWave studio 2.1.1.0  ?

Best regards,

Grigor Mardiyan

  • Hi, there:

The last several samples in your ADC data is very high, I would recommend you to increase the ADC start time and check whether it goes away.

With that high jump, if you apply different FFT windowing, you may see different range FFT output.

My recommendation is to adjust the ADC start time, until the high jump in ADC data goes away.

    Best,

    Zigang
