Are there any restrictions on using it on satellites?

    Hello Toru,

    Using a automotive device in a space application is done on your own risk. We have space qualified devices that have data to support space radiation effects. The type of space device that is needed depends on where the satellites are located. Is the satellite for a LEO or GEO obit? We have digital remote temperature sensor, TMP461-SP, that is qualified for space.

    Our satellite is LEO.

    I have one question.

    TMP461-SP needs a lead-forming to use mount on PCB.

    Do you have other space chip that doesn't need lead-forming?

    Hello Toru,

    The long leads within the TMP461-SP allow customers the flexibility to manipulate the pins to fit their needs. Lead-forming on the TMP461-SP is done by a third party. STVtronics is what we have used in the past for lead forming for SP packages. I will send you contacts through email.
