IWR1642:out of box demo _ thresholdScale

I am currently developing a radar object detection and tracking algorithm using the IWR1642 and designing a monitoring system for it.

I plan to modify the Out of Box demo using the CCS (Code Composer Studio) tool to proceed with my development.

After flashing the demo file and using the demo visualizer, I can see the detected points in the Range Profile as part of the object detection results.

Upon examining the dss_main.c file and following the header file paths, I found that the calculation is defined in objectdetection.h, and further defined in cfarcaprocdsp.c, where the function DPU_CFARCAProcDSP_process first performs CFAR detection in the Doppler domain, and then applies CFAR again in the Range domain only for the relevant indices. Finally, the function stores the object count and detected object position information after applying peak grouping.

I also discovered that the thresholdScale is specified in the cfg file. In the SDK User Guide, the example value for this parameter is 15. However, I am curious as to why this value is fixed at 15.

Could you provide more information on why the thresholdScale is set to this value?
