DCA1000EVM: Is there any simple way to determine whether DCA1000EVM can work normally?

According to the document "DCA1000EVM Quick Start Guide", DCA1000EVM should be connected to the PC and a comport will appear (or an unknown comport will be displayed).
But no matter what I try, there is no response, even after installing the driver. Is there any simple way to determine whether the board can work normally?
In addition, when I connected the power supply, I saw that it was only around 2 volts, and the current reached 3A. There was also heat. Is this normal? It doesn’t look promising.
I would like to ask how long the warranty is for this board?
