AWR2243: Tx power monitor

Tool/software:

I monitored Tx power with awr2243 in slave mode configuration with no external Lo signal input, and the value was about 13dBm.

Why would the Tx power monitor be approximately 13 dBm with no Lo signal input?

Also, is it possible to monitor the actual output Tx power.

Hello,

13dBm is correct, there is an internal loop which feeds the LO back to the RX chain in short. When the functional chirps are not present, there will be test chirps generated in the loopback feeding the TX output to the LNA input and that is the 13dBm measured in the monitoring report.

As an additional question, is it correct to assume that the actual Tx power can be monitored when the Lo signal is externally input?

Hello,

That's correct in slave mode, external LO is still being used in the loop back and TX power can be monitored.
