IWR6843ISK: Evaluation of a radar working with 57 GHz range

Dear сolleagues,

I think to use IWR6843ISK-ODS or IWR6843ISK with 57 GHz range.

Datasheet like swru546e.pdf contains information with respect to 60-64 GHz, while 57 GHz is mentioned like an optional feature.

So my question is, are there any information about evaluation of radar (IWR6843ISK-ODS or IWR6843ISK) working with 57 GHz?

Particularly I am interested in antenna radiation pattern and maximum radiated power/ EIRP ?

Do you think it is possible to use the same antenna configuration for 57 GHz?

Hi Grigor,

TI doesn't support operation of the IWR6843 family in the 57-60 GHz band. However, instructions on how to use the those devices in the 57-60GHz band can be found in the TI Resource Explorer (https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?a=1AslXXD__2.20.00.05&node=A__ALzHvtJdWAgA.omCIrS1yw__radar_toolbox__1AslXXD__2.20.00.05).

The ISK and ODS antennas are both designed such that the peak gain is at 60 GHz. They can be used at frequencies outside that, with some reduction in gain. The antenna information can also be found in TIREX.
