DRV5011: DRV5011ADDMRR,

Part Number: DRV5011
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMAG5231, DRV5032, DRV5033, , TMAG5253

Tool/software:

Hi

we bought the low voltage digital latch hall effect  part number DRV5011ADDMRR,

it seems to pickup mag field noise, so one of the options i was considering is add a bias

permanent magnet on top of chip. But i also understand that you sell bias units with this feature

already built in, but i have not been able to find one in your catalogue that is close match in performance or packaging

to the DRV5011ADDMRR, can you recommend a unit  that is a close match in terms of packaging and having a fast bandwidth

thanks

  • Hello Louis,

Can you clarify which devices have the feature you are referring to?  At present, I do not think we integrate any magnets or ferromagnetic material within our parts to reject external ambient magnetic fields, we simply have devices with different levels of noise introduced along the internal signal chain and we have different hysteresis thresholds.  With our latch and switch devices there is hysteresis between BOP and BRP to minimize the impact of noise.  Latches will have the hysteresis region centered around 0mT, for detecting magnetic pole transitions, where as the switches will have the hysteresis region centered away from 0mT to detecting threshold changes in either a positive or negative magnetic field.   If by bias you mean you want a hysteresis region not centered around 0mT, we do not have any devices that can satisfy both bandwidth and package criteria.  DRV5032 and TMAG5231 come in X2SON, but have low bandwidth.  DRV5033 has 30kHz bandwidth, but comes in a SOT-23.

  • hi patrick

it seems that DRV 5011 triggers at 0.6 mT   what options do i have in that package size and bandwidth to trigger at much higher levels. Also do you have a number i can call you at ?

  • Hello Louis,

The DRV5011 is guaranteed to trigger low above 3.8mT and may trigger at lower value with 0.6mT being the lowest.  After triggering low it is guaranteed to return high below -3.8mT, however, again it might return high at some value between that and -0.6mT.  And that is what I meant about the hysteresis being centered around 0mT. Can you comment on what levels you are wanting to trigger at?  Is there a general range you can specify?

  • hi Patrick

it seems we have noise above 4 mT   so was wondering if can trigger it above sat 15 mT. that is being the lowest since we will use 2 magnets in opp polarity. Also is the there a magnetic field limit that may saturate this sensor ?

  • Hello Louis,

The only latch device with a threshold near that is DRV5013BC.  However, it does not come in the package you want.  As our devices presently do not have concentrators in them, there is not really a limit that should be observed to avoid device damage or needing to power cycle.

  • hi Patrick

Do you have an analog sensor that would output a voltage proportional to the field sensed in the same package size as DRV 5011

  • Hey Louis,

If you are looking for an analog output device in the DMR package, then you might consider the TMAG5253.

  • hi patrick

but the bandwidth is only 15 khz need something above 6000 khz

    thanks

  • sorry i meant 6 khz yes this may work

  • Per your last response, I presume the TMAG5253 is a possible solution for you.  As such, Im going to close this thread.  However, if you need more information or have an inquiry on another device, feel free to open a new thread.
