Tool/software:

I downloaded the design files for the FDC2214EVM from the official website and made my own board, but I am unable to program the MCU and cannot use it with the accompanying GUI. How can I solve this issue?

When connecting to the PC, I tried putting the FDC2214EVM into BSL mode and reloading the firmware, but the firmware updater shows that the device cannot be found. In addition, another identical self-made FDC2214EVM heats up on the MSP when connected to the PC.

For the EVM, please try the steps given in Question 1 of the [FAQ] Inductive sensing FAQ - Frequently asked questions page.
The question is under the larger heading EVMs, Software, and GUI.
It describes how to restore a "bricked" EVM.

The steps might also help with the other PCB.
