Hello,
Thank you for your post.
If your customer wants to avoid the DEMAG function, then I would recommend grounding this pin.
This would prevent demagnetization cycles from occurring.
I hope this helps,
Joe
Hi Joe:
Customer want to know if DRV401 DEMAG PIN has internal pull down function ?
Below is the DRV401 output waveform , seems DEMAG pin was mis trigged. Could i have your comment here ? Thanks.
Joe:
DEMAG PIN is floating. Customer's product is for solar, they found abnormal output ,but other product don't have this behavior . Only one PCS DRV401 seem mis trigged.
Hello,
There is no internal pull-up or pull-down. To prevent the demag cycle, please GND the DEMAG pin. Otherwise, it is in an indeterminate state.
Best Regards,
Joe
Joe:
1- Does DRV401 has internal ESD in DEMAG pin?
2-Could I have your support to analyze what situation may cause this output waveform ?
3-Do you have fault tree to help customer debug this issue ?
Hello,
When the DEMAG pin is left floating, it is in an indeterminate state.
The output waveform is a standard DEGAUSS cycle for the device. Are you referring to a different output waveform?
Please take a look at the input leakage current of the DEMAG pin in the datasheet.
If the Leakage does not change with logic high or low, then that means that there is no internal pull-up.
Please connect this to GND as we recommend all input logic pins to have a determined state and this will avoid the Degauss cycle.
I hope this helps,
Joe
Joe:
If customer put continuous high in DEMAG pin, DRV401 does demag only once or it will do demag cycle by cycle ? Thanks.
Hello,
When connecting the DEMAG pin to VS, the DRV401 will perform a DEMAG cycle once when the device is powering on.
I hope this helps,
Joe
